It’s the logistics, stupid?!
Logistics as an anticapitalist focus for the G20-protests in Hamburg

The G20-summit marks a challenge for antiauthoritarian anticapitalists. We – like many others – have been wondering, whether and to what extent it makes sense to contribute to anti-summit-mobilisations at all nowadays. The alterglobalisation-movement has reached its peak a while ago. With all due respect to that movement and what it gave to us – do we need another rattling at the “fence of the ruling class” and simulate our “strength”? What strength? The current crisis of economy and politics is unfortunately also a crisis of the antiauthoritarian left and our forms of politics. The conditions we face haven’t improved at all, rather the opposite. Neoliberalism has survived itself and keeps decaying (but not dying), while the global shift of the right-wing is conquering streets and parliaments: this is also a tension for the summit itself. In Hamburg, despots like Trump, Erdoğan and Putin will share a conference room with the well-known administrators of the neoliberal status-quo. The decision to organise summits like this not in the middle of nowhere anymore, but (again) in the metropolis’ inner city shows the high amount of our rulers’ confindence.

We need to reject this staged showdown between bad alternatives of authoritarian neoliberalism and nationalistic backclash – which will probably find arrangements anyway at the summit – by all means, in order to escape the wrong opposition. This is why we want to draw the antiauthoritarian anticapitalists’ attention to the logistics of capital. Logistics? Isn’t that the specialists’ topic of the political nerds?! Not fully. Indeed, we are quite new on this topic ourselves. But this should not hold us from discussing logistics as an anticapitalist focus, highlight previous and current praxis in that field and finally suggest logistics as an anticapitalist focus especially in the context of the G20-summit in Hamburg.

It’s the logistics, stupid?!
